Giovanni Dispoto

I am currently pursuing a PhD at Politecnico di Milano, under the supervison of Prof. Marcello Restelli. My research interests include Reinforcement Learning and its applications in finance, such as trading, market making, hedging and portfolio optimization. Presently, I am collaborating with the CVA Management and AI investments desk at Intesa Sanpaolo . In addition to my work in finance, I am also interested in Machine Learning applications to the biomedical field. My Master’s thesis explored the use of 3D Autoencoders for unsupervised feature extraction over Computer Tomography (CT) images, aimed at predicting the survival of patients affected by Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC). Outside of my academic and research interests, I am a proud Apple user  and I admire Steve Jobs for his visionary contributions to technology and innovation. In the past year, I have developed an interest in startups and entrepreneurship. I’ve begun to explore this field through reading and networking with other people. Maybe one day I’ll have the opportunity to leverage this knowledge.
